Candoris desired an adaptively reused space that reflected their purpose-driven culture, commitment to innovation, and the genuine spirit of their name. With this, Beers + Hoffman was presented with the opportunity to reuse an existing 12,500 s.f. office building. Having previously completed an addition to this very building for the former occupants (a medical practice), gave a head-start. But it also meant formulating creative solutions to turn the existing prefabricated wood frame structure, comprised of individual exam and procedure rooms, into the open, collaborative work environment that Candoris desired.

Adaptively Reused Spaces

adaptively reusedThe use of concealed engineered wood products allowed for the removal of bearing walls and the formation of open office areas. The new space also boasts an operations center and training room. Small group meeting rooms and collaborative spaces are now interspersed throughout the floor plan. These spaces provide for the facilitation of breakout meetings, as well as informal discussions over coffee in the modern kitchenette. A larger staff breakroom on the lower level offers employees a casual and comfortable space for in-house lunch meetings.

Reconfiguration of the former medical office’s waiting room lead to a new and generously sized waiting room. This new space offers Candoris the opportunity to highlight their data center capabilities and illuminate their philanthropic endeavors.

The root of the word Candoris is Latin for sincerity, integrity, openness, and trust – values that are deeply rooted in the digital solution company’s culture and reflected in this adaptive use. Our design-build team harnessed their expertise and creativity to provide modern, innovative solutions for this project. An outdated medical space was vibrantly transformed into an open and modern collaborative environment.
