Our team is proud to have assisted with the Green Houses at Londonderry Village, one of the most recent additions to the growing campus. The ‘Green House’ concept is intended to provide residents with an airy, home-like atmosphere that is conducive to social interaction.
To quote The Green House Project’s website, “The Green House Project partners with senior living providers to create homes for elders that demonstrate more powerful, meaningful, and satisfying lives, work, and relationships. We implement true culture change as well as dementia education and training to create person-directed, relationship-rich living environments.”
Each of the two 8,600 s.f. single story facilities provide comfortable, long-term and post-acute care for ten residents. Amenities within each house includes private bedrooms, salon, spa, laundry, central kitchen, dining and living areas. Residents of the Green Houses at Londonderry Village have access to a common courtyard, providing a controlled environment for gardening, gathering and outdoor dining. Each building has a medical room and office for the nursing staff that are on site 24- hours a day.
Our experience with all forms of senior living and varying levels of care proved to be valuable throughout the design and construction process. The theories and methods on design in senior care is continually evolving at a rapid pace. Supporting lifestyles, cultivating care and shaping communities, the architectural environments being created provide the fundamental platform for an ever-improving quality of life.
One of the things we like about Beers + Hoffman is we think they’re the exact right size for us. They’re big enough to have the resources and technology to produce CAD drawings and computer simulations that we all want and love to show off to our customers, but they’re small enough that they understand us and give us the personal attention we have come to expect over the years.
