Highland Presbyterian Church

Lancaster, PA

Improved circulation was a crucial design gesture as a major new wing was added to the existing church. A large well-lit lobby narthex connects all major components of the building and becomes a “market-place” for ministry tables. The addition (26,800 sf) and renovations (34,800 sf) unified the structure which had had numerous over-lapping additions over the years. The new two-story acoustically-tuned multi-purpose space is surrounded by the classrooms on both levels. The lower level can be separated for use as a pre-school during the week, and new youth center not only links to the “gym” but also has its own exterior activity space.

Awarded an Excellence in Construction Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors Association.

Beers & Hoffman did a great job on getting our church to find its own vision so we could build a church expansion that best suited our needs.
