Cedar Crest High School | Cornwall Lebanon Athletic Building
Cornwall, PA
With a vibrant award-winning music program, the Cedar Crest High School facility had a significant need as the existing band room was well undersized for its growing marching band. Not only was the original 1,681 s.f. band room expanded to double its size floor-plan wise, but the height (and volume) were significantly increased to assist with acoustics and to reduce the loud decibels reverberating within the space.
For security and thermal comfort, the entry lobby was adjusted with a new airlock having double sets of doors to pass through, and a security counter was added on the inside to control access into the high school.
As curriculum change, an existing high school classroom was reconfigured into a science laboratory with a teaching area separated from the lab table area.
Additional work included a new 10,022 sf school district athletic facility.
Testimonial
“Bob Hoffman and Scott Shonk came to our project planning meetings with a unique, open and supportive approach. They were tremendous listeners and ‘idea generators’ who took the needs of all staff and made them happen in an innovative but educationally sound way. Bob and Scott always put people first and that is what made the project so successful.”
