Fawn United Methodist Church
Fawn Grove, PA
The congregation at Fawn United Methodist Church engaged Beers + Hoffman for the sensitive reconstruction of a sanctuary & lobby addition (13,000 sf) to replace the original sanctuary destroyed by fire in 2005.
While the massing of the steeple with a pair of gable roofs references the former historic building, the angled twisting of the floor plan permitted a new larger naturally-lit lobby space. The new fellowship area also included an elevator for accessibility, new ADA restrooms, and moved the nursery space adjacent to the sanctuary. Provisions are in-place for a future mezzanine, and new stained glass windows replicated the originals. All while working within the incredibly tight footprint between the road and the adjacent cemetery.
