Highland Presbyterian Church
Lancaster, PA
Improved circulation was a crucial design gesture as a major new wing was added to the existing Highland Presbyterian church. A large well-lit lobby narthex connects all major components of the building and becomes a “market-place” for ministry tables. The addition (26,800 sf) and renovations (34,800 sf) unified the structure which had had numerous over-lapping additions over the years. The new two-story acoustically-tuned multi-purpose space is surrounded by the classrooms on both levels. The lower level can be separated for use as a pre-school during the week, and new youth center not only links to the “gym” but also has its own exterior activity space.

“Beers & Hoffman did a great job on getting our church to find its own vision so we could build a church expansion that best suited our needs.”
