Cedar Crest Falcon Connector Groundbreaking – January 8, 2024
From the Desk of Bob Hoffman:
Beers+ Hoffman was honored to be involved in the recent “Falcon Connector” groundbreaking!
It marked the twenty-fifth year that we have partnered with the District on their capital improvements journey!
It was the Cornwall Lebanon District that gave B+H its first major school engagement. Since that initial engagement at Cornwall Elementary School, our firm has designed countless modest projects and fifteen major school projects for Lebanon county districts and beyond.
We are pleased and honored to continue our special relationship with the board, administration, and staff of this great district!
Scott Shonk, Project Architect, and Principal of Beers + Hoffman Architecture spoke to the attendees:
“We are honored to be working with you [the CLSD] on this project. We have a long relationship with the District and we are so glad to be a part of this design. I want to point out Bob Hoffman is in the crowd with us, as well as Brian Rummel. Brian did a lot of the drawings and did a great job, and the bids obviously came in well. I do want thank the rest of our team, we hired the engineers, so we have Steckbeck Engineering…they do the civil engineering, Moore Engineering [MEP design], and Baker Ingram did the structural design…We also want to thank the District team, Dr. Domencic, Jean Hentz, Jason Murry, Dan Brinkly…all of the Principals…we had a great team to work with. Again, an architect is really only as good as the input from the owner and we had great input from the owner.
Quickly noting the building that’s going to connect these two buildings, we’re going to have two floors, and on those two floors we’re going to start with 22 classrooms. They are going to act as swing space as we do the High School. It’s going to reverse when we do the Middle School, it’s going to be swing space for the Middle School. Ultimately at the lower level can eventually become the Education Center for the District office.
Once again, we are pleased to be here and thank you!”
