Caring Cupboard Ground Breaking
Palmyra, PA
Beers + Hoffman was pleased to join Shila Ulrich and the Caring Cupboard community as they broke ground on their new home at East Broad Street, in Palmyra, PA.
Planning for the new facility began in 2020 and the impact of the COVID pandemic and food insecurity within our community has impacted the final design. The revised footprint now includes an approximately 5,000 SF storage and warehouse portion to support the originally planned for store and offices.
Recognizing the need for services in addition to food and other necessities, the plan includes clinic spaces, mobile library, and community meeting rooms. Additionally, an effort to address critical affordable housing needs, the upper level of the new facility includes 12 modest one bedroom apartment units.
B+H Architecture is again happy to team with Funk Construction as the design build partner, as well as Steckbeck Engineering, Providence Engineering Corporation, and Michael L. Norris Associates to provide the permit and construction documents for the approximately 27,540 SF two-story facility.
