The Logan Building
Lebanon, PA
The renovation of a 20,000 sf structure housing a former women’s apparel store with vacant and deteriorated upper levels into an upscale men’s clothing store, corporate offices and a penthouse suite for the owner. The building had been neglected both inside and outside and a contemporary façade tacked onto its street façade. The building’s exterior was completely restored with a new façade designed to replicate the original building’s department store face. Old photographs and some salvage material were used as the basis of this work. The interior was masterfully modified to produce a warm and exciting ground floor store with new elevator and pedestrian access to upper story offices and a residence. The renovations highlighted the inherent architectural qualities of the building while converting them from their former department store function to new and exciting uses.
The private residence created on the top floor is accessed by the building elevator and opens directly into a large space combining living, dining and an open kitchen in an elegant manner. This refined detail is carried throughout the rest of the residence.
