Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services
Lebanon, PA
Designed to house the Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services (DES) and HazMat Operations on a single site the new facility consists of an approximately 41,000 sf Main Building and 20,000 sf Operations Building. Following evaluation of multiple sites, a location was selected that permitted ease of access for emergency equipment, clear site telecommunications, and appropriate security stand off dimensions. The Main Building will house the DES Administration, Emergency Management Administration, and 911 Administration Offices as well as 911 Operations, Emergency Operations Center, and Training Spaces.
Critical portions of the facility were designed to include hardened construction techniques to ensure continued operations during severe weather emergencies, natural disasters, and terroristic threats. The Operations Building will house HazMat Operations and includes multiple vehicular bays for storage of equipment, a maintenance bay, and wash bay, as well as Surge Storage, Crew Lounge, and Training Room. The modern contemporary design reflects the intended long term life expectancy of the critical facility to serve and meet the needs of the residents of the County for generations.
