The fire-damaged Homes of Hope property at 233 East Main Street in Ephrata was restored into two new apartment dwellings. The restoration celebration was held on April 24, 2021. Many involved with the design and construction process attended.
Beers + Hoffman Architecture was pleased to assist Ephrata Area Homes of Hope, Ephrata Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Mennonite Disaster Service with the restoration. We provided architectural drawings to secure a building permit and assisted MDS with the construction of the project.
First, we conducted a building survey to accurately assess the condition of the home. Second, we generated plans. These plans incorporated Ephrata Area Homes of Hope request for the creation two apartments. Finally, Mennonite Disaster Services coordinated the scope of the renovations directly, ensuring quality construction and building safety.
In short, families with children needing housing assistance in the area, once again have a place to call home as they overcome life’s challenges.
