07/25/2023 – Phase 1 “Construction in Progress” Event

Canal Affordable Housing- Phase I will consist of eight (8) dwellings with a unit mix of five, one-bedroom apartments, and three, two-bedroom apartments. Four dwellings are reserved for Homeless households, and four dwellings are reserved for Special Needs household. Both household types are further defined in the 2021 Implementation Plan containing several qualifying types. All units have been designed to easily accommodate persons challenged by ambulatory issues.

Upgrades above Community Homes Maple Street Duplex Proof of Concept build­ing includes fire sprinkler system in each dwelling, 2nd porch with an outside stor­age closet, and heat via a gas-fired, forced-air furnace.
